Pore Reduction

definition

Enlarged pores are depressions in the facial skin surface that contain one or more openings to the ducts carrying sweat and oil from their respective eccrine glands and sebaceous glands.

While not a medical concern, enlarged pores can be a cause of lowered self-esteem and aesthetic concern for many individuals.

We want to help you regain a smooth skin surface to help you look good and feel great.

How we treat enlarged pores

Here at True Skin, we understand how the appearance of enlarged pores can affect your self confidence. Our qualified and experienced clinicians will guide you on your journey to regain that clear smooth face you always wanted. We've found a comprehensive approach works best for uneven skin surfaces.

During your initial consultation, we will assess your skin type and recommend a course of treatment, or perhaps a combination of treatments.

One option we may suggest, especially if you also suffer from facial acne is Spectra Peel Laser which will help to clear blockages from pores and rejuvenate the skin from it's deeper layers. You may also benefit from the application of microneedling or dermapen if you do not have active acne. Microneedling and dermapen involve the application if tiny sterile needles to puncture the topmost layer of skin to stimulate collagen production and skin resurfacing. Our skilled clinicians will explain and walk you through the whole process keeping you safe and any pain minimal.

We take a holistic approach to help you to maintain the clear face you have always wanted. In addition to the clinical treatments, we will also advise you on a post-treatment skincare regime and a skin-friendly diet.

Our treatments

Spectra Peel

Spectra Peel is a highly effective laser treatment for enlarged pores associated with acne prone skin. It is virtually painless.

The spectra peel laser works on your deepest skin layer called the dermis, promoting cell regeneration and reducing inflammation. On the skin’s surface it gently eliminates dead skin cells, cleares blocked pores, shrinks oil-producing glands and stimulates new skin growth.

You will likely need to start with six Spectra Peel sessions and then visit us two or three times a year for maintenance sessions.

Intensif Microneedling

Intensif microneedling triggers the skin’s natural healing process through a combination of tiny sterile needles and short radiofrenquency (RF) pulses to stimulate collagen production and rapid skin renewal. There is minimal downtime and it is suitable for most skin types, especially those wanting to resurface their skin for issues such as pore enlargment, scarring and wrinkle reduction.

Dermapen

Similar to microneedling, Dermapen uses a controlled pen appliator to gently pierce the skin with fine sterile needles in order to stimulate renewal of skin surface and collagen. We will walk you through every step as well as provide anaesthetic to make the process as easy and painless as possible.

True Skin's Tailored Skincare Regime

Medifacials & Chemical Peel

Perfect for those not ready for lasers or needles, medifacials and/or chemical peels can be used to help reduce the appearance of large pores on their own or in combination with other treatments. Our highly professional clinicians will ensure your skin receives the right ingredients to target enlarged pores and achieve smoother, brighter skin.

Laser Genesis

The gentlest of laser treatments, laser genesis is a relaxing and easy laser therapy with no downtime and close to zero discomfort. Your therapist will work with you to target areas of concern with the Cutera laser, designed to gently remove the topmost layer of dead skin while stimulating skin cells from within to renew and revitalise the surface.

PRP/Factor 4

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) skin treatment is a natural therapy utilising your body’s own blood to promote skin healing. The natural chemicals in PRP generated from your own blood are applied to the face and micro-needled into the skin during a short procedure. Using the healing effects of your body’s plasma and the essential chemicals in the PRP formula, skin rejuvenation is accelerated, tightening and smoothing where you want it most.

Factor 4 is also available as an advanced version of PRP. With longer processing time of your blood, the concentration of growth factors is 4 times that of PRP and therefore provides more fuel for skin rejuvenation and healing.

Skin Booster

Also known as hydrating fillers, skin boosters are micro injections of hyaluronic acid in combination with essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants formulated with the aim of stimulating new collagen and elastin from within the deepest layers of the skin.

FSR

Short for Fractional Skin Resurfacing, FSR does exactly as it's name suggests, resurfaces the skin and improves overall texture using unique technology combining laser therapy and deep application of heat. As a result you will see a visible reduction in the appearance of large pores and imperfections on the skin's surface. FSR is a relatively quick treatment with minimal downtime that is able to target collagen fibres deep within the skin while also promoting a smoother skin surface.
