These LED treatments are personally customised to each individual’s skin requirements to get the maximum results from the full treatment. The deep sonic cleansing is the preferred method to achieve a deep true clean and exfoliation with light resurfacing technique that is now favoured over microdermabrasion. This technique does not include any harsh chemicals or sanding back of the skin as microdermabrasion and severe chemical peels do making it very safe and effective for all skin types and conditions. Deep sonic cleansing known as “Ultra Sonic” exfoliates the surface of the skin to deep clean and lift impurities out of the pores by generating 28,000 vibrations per second and this with gentle applied pressure lifts off dead skin cells and debris from the face.

Following the deep sonic cleanse is a manual or electronic frequency skin roll extraction procedure if the skin is congested to unblock the pores of the skin. This is performed without causing any damage to the skin structure and does not cause future permanent scarring.

Once the skin is fully cleaned, pure and regulated it is then ready to accept further treatment such as a professionally selected vitamin peels to further clear and regulate pore size, stimulate fibroblasts to encourage collagen and elastin growth to nourish and strengthen the deep dermal layers where it counts most to create strong healthy skin.

Medical Grade Chemical Peels

Alphahydroxy acids, such as glycolic, lactic or fruit acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels with noticeable results. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover from a TCA or phenol peel. AHA’s are used to treat fine wrinkling, dryness, uneven pigmentation, and acne. AHA’s may be applied weekly or at longer intervals to obtain the best results. These acids are also used as a part of daily skin-care regimens to improve the texture of the skin.

Medical Grade Chemical Peels uses an enzymatic solution to improve and smooth the texture of the skin by removing its damaged outer layers. What is the treatment like?

Most patients experience a warm to hot sensation which may last as long as ten minutes, followed by a stinging sensation. For deeper peels, some patients require local facial anaesthesia. At True Skin, we take every step to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you, and if required, there is cryogenic cooler at your request.

Don’t forget to mention any medical history including history of viral infections, sensitivity to the sun, or prior skin treatments such as microdermabrasion or Roaccutane treatments within the past 6 months.

What should you expect after treatment?

After your clinician performs a chemical peel, depending on the depth of the peel, and your skin’s reactions, you will feel and see a difference straight away. With the deeper chemical peels, you may feel it to be similar to a sunburn and may range from mild to more pronounced (depending on the depth of the peel you’ve had). Generally, the deeper the peel the longer the recovery time.

A light chemical peel usually results in some redness, and possibly some scaling for the first few days. Flaky skin can be concealed with our recommended mineral make-up. Most people feel that their skin looks cleaner, fresher and tighter immediately afterwards. These “today” peels require little preparation, on your behalf. You are able to go back to work immediately afterwards. It is perfect in preparation for a special event!

Medium and deep peels may require some home preparation before the procedure to produce the best possible results. The result after the medium to deep peels may be swelling and blisters that break open, forming a crust and turning brown, followed by peeling which may last up to 2 weeks. These peels may require dressings on some or all of the treated skin. Dressings are usually removed after 1 – 2 days. Serums and creams will be applied to keep the skin moist. At first the new skin will have the appearance of a significant sunburn which will gradually fade to pink over the next several weeks. Cosmetics can be applied after about 2 weeks. Following a chemical peel, your new skin will be tighter, smoother and may be slightly lighter than it was before treatment.

Non-Chemical Peel

We believe this is the most effective peel and procedure that will revolutionise the way we treat skin in the future.

Instead of wounding the skin, medi-facial infusion, with its potent liposomal delivery of calming, antibacterial, lightening and eight dermal remodelling ingredients is great for every skin condition. It is extremely safe because it is free of any alpha/beta hydroxy acids and it is therefore well tolerated by all skin types. We see mild to moderate exfoliation two to four (2-4) days after the medi-facial infusions which usually lasts for another 2-3 days. The treatment is gentle but the results are significant.

Salicylic Peel

Following any skin peel, it is important that you avoid any exposure to the sun. Your new skin is very sensitive and susceptible to injury. LIGHTWAVE LED light therapy stimulates the rejuvenation of living tissues through the process of “photo-bio-stimulation”, which means “the stimulation of life with light.” Photobiostimulation is very similar to the process of photosynthesis. As you remember from high school, photosynthesis is the process by which plants manufacture chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is the energy, which drives the functions of the plant at the cellular level, allowing the plant to thrive. Chlorophyll is to the plant what ATP is to the human body. Neither chlorophyll nor ATP can be manufactured without the presence of specific-wavelengths of light.

It is important to note that the visible Red and Infra-red energies used in a LIGHTWAVE treatment do not heal/rejuvenate the tissues being treated.

IGHTWAVE simply provides the tissues being treated with the energy necessary to spark the production of ATP. Once ATP is produced, the body will use this energy to carry out repair and rejuvenation on a cellular level and in return, the body will visibly repair itself.

Blue light (wavelength 405nm-420nm) provides a superficial or slight penetration of light into the skin. It is mostly absorbed by the epidermis of the skin. Blue light (at specific wavelength 405-420nm) targets the P. acnes bacteria by stimulating the body’s tissues to convert the energy from the light into ATP. Within six to eight sessions, you will see a marked difference. When Blue Light LED Therapy and Red Light LED Therapy are utilised in conjunction to one another they become very effective at targeting inflammatory acne.

LED Lightwave Therapy

Red light (wavelength 630nm-640nm) penetrates the skin superficially, with about 80% of the energy being absorbed in the first 2cm. Our skin has photo receptors or biological switches which are activated by specific wavelengths, in particular 630nm wavelength, which increases the production of ATP. This in turn boosts fibroblast activity which is pre-collagen building activity, ideal for allowing to skin to renew itself on its own.

LED Lightwave Therapy

Infrared (IR) light (wavelength 800nm – 900nm) energy penetrates skin to a deeper level than Blue and Red light. A NASA study has shown that approximately 50% penetrates to 8cm and decreases to less than 1% at 20cm. Infrared energy heats skin and the effects are well documented for therapeutic pain management. Cosmetic use of IR is possible as IR stimulates the NaK+ pump involved in increasing the permeability of the cell membrane. This process facilitates the equilibrium of cellular pH, while also increasing nutritional absorption and the elimination of waste by-products.

Skin is affected differently by pulsing the different wavelengths between 10 Hz – 10,000 Hz. High or fast pulses stimulate mitosis and cellular repair, Mid-range pulses stimulate endorphin production and slow pulses reduce nerve sensitivity by decreasing the production of Brinikin lucitrin required for the transmission of pain signals.
